Yesterday was a brutal day for Palm Desert.  Temperature high in shade was 114.5 and wind blew about 25 mph. With clouds and humidity.  Could not see the mountains.

Wonder what today holds?

114.5* in the shade? Hell man; I've seen "nights" where it didn't get that "cool" there! Used to not even pop a sweat 'til it hit 120*. Of course, that was 30 years and several (X10) pounds ago. What are ya gonna do when it warms up?  :p

Used to have an old sayin' when someone asked how hot it was. "What's the difference? Anything over 100* is too f*ckin' hot to be out in anyways!"

It is 118.9 here right now as of 5:45 pm PTZ.  Just a little on the warm side.  You know it is hot when you set on the toilet and the water in the bowl is hot on your butt!

I remember nights when it wouldn't get below 105*. Was actually enjoyable w/o the sun beatin' down on ya. Used to roam/hunt the deserts all night w/it bein' 105* and never complain about it bein' hot. Of course, that was 40 years and 150# ago. Oh; and it's not to say that that 3AM dip in the irrigation pond wasn't appreciated either! Now those were good times!  :good

$hit; THAT "Survivor guy" wouldn't have lasted one night w/us in the desert! He would've been beggin' for us to take him home before midnight on one of our "excursions".  :p

I think summer has arrived, !117 here today

Perssonally, we are going to the beach tomorrow. And will come home Wednesday night.   Hope to find some cooler weather.  

Then on Sunday heading to Havasu to enjoy the boat and some cooler water.  With some friends.

Our younger daughter just bought a boat this evening over in Havasu.  They are their tonight with the kids.  Up till now they have been ATV'ers.
