So its seems to be getting to the point that the cell carriers are getting too exclusive. I mean that you can buy any phone you wish but certain ones require a data plan even if you don't want it. I've still got my Razor and I'm happy with it just fine, daughter has a touch screen phone of some sort. If I wanted to "upgrade" to any of the newer phones they all require this data plan and a two year commitment
Today I read in the paper that pre-paid phones are now making a huge gain, the newer phones(albeit not the newest) are now available and the cost savings are significant. $60 for prepay vs $100+ on most major carriers. The one downfall they mention is coverage is not quite as good and slower downloads for the data type phones. Great bargain for the average user but if large file transfers are your thing then maybe less so of a good deal. I'm tired of paying $140 or so bucks a month for 3 phones, none with a data or web plan. Curious if anyone else has tried the prepaid route and what their thoughts are on it? Ain't life Grand? Treat it that way. The Love of my Life, Jan.
