The Riverside County Board of Supervisors today approved changing the rates charged by the Sheriff's Department for assigning deputies to special duties.
Sheriff Stan Sniff requested a revised "extra duty" pay schedule to reflect lower and higher personnel costs borne by the department.
Under the new service rates, the cost for a deputy assigned to work events, such as parades or festivals, or other duties outside of his or her customary assignments, will be $69.41 per hour, compared to $70.67 currently.
According to agency documents, the charge for a sheriff's corporal will drop from $75.25 per hour to $73.91 per hour, while a court bailiffs cost will decrease from $52.56 to $51.63.
A sergeant's rate, however, will increase from $95.37 per hour to $99.95 per hour, and a lieutenant's will rise from $75.86 per hour to $79.51 per hour.
Of the 37 positions listed in the revised rate schedule, extra duty costs were going up for 30, or just over three-quarters.
They Beni's are on top of this, A bit more than $100 per hour. "Damn you sure know how to fock things up."-GFR
