First I appologize for not posting earlier. We got home last night but was tired and bummed about the incident, today it really sunk in and was tired so I didn't to say anything because I probably would have a said a lot of stupid things. I read some of the other posts and I am totally grateful for your concern about my welfare!.
About the incident, I did not see it but I talked to several that have seen it but everyone seen it at a different angle and it looked different, but from all the descriptions I heard I gather that it was an evasive action that went sour!. The kids went up to the dam and floated back and were on their way back for dinner but they were on the wrong side of the river, Grier was going north and when he came around the corner he saw them and went to the right as normal, I guess at the same time John thought he would go the same way figuring Grier would keep going straight, I guess Grier made an instant move to the left but was too close to avoid them and ran over the other boat. But regardless how it happened, it's a very sad boating accident!.
I met the parents"Dossangers" last year at Red Rock and they are great people, this year I met his son John"Dos JR", we were camped together and they have to be the greatest kids I've seen in a long time!. John just turned 21 and his dad gave him the boat for his birthday, it's the exact same type boat that his first boat was, how cool. His daughter was 18 and such a sweetheart. The part that hits hard is just 3 hours before, I took John out for a ride in mine, we did a few hot laps and aired it out for him, when I looked over to see the look on his face, all I saw was the happiest kid in the world!!..That's going to stick for a long time!!!!...
