The Western Pyrotechnic Association would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to pyrotechnic hobbyists and professionals across the world. The WPA was founded in 1989 by a few pyrotechnic enthusiasts who decided a west coast based organization was long overdue. In the spirit of the PGI and other pyrotechnic organizations, we wanted a network of close friends we could share our love for fireworks with and to hold events that were both entertaining as well as educational. I don't know if any of us could have dreamed we would be so successful. Our growth has soared since then and we just keep getting bigger every year. As a club, we have filled the void felt so long by west coast pyros. The Western Pyrotechnic Association's annual event is called the Western Winter Blast and it is held in February every year. Since 1990 it has been held in Lake Havasu City which is right on the beautiful Colorado River in Arizona. Like a PGI convention, we have seminars, flea markets, class c and pyrotechnic supply vending, open C and B shooting, BBQ's, afterglow parties, and much more. If you have never been to a Winter Blast, you don't know what your missing. The Western Winter Blast is the premier pyrotechnic event of the Winter Time. Now more than ever, people come to the Winter Blast from across the globe, and with good reason. Not only is it an exciting event, but the weather is warm and the sun is shining... (most of the time). Pyro enthusiasts who live in freezing and snowing areas are finding a summer pyro haven in the wintertime at the Western Winter Blast.  Thats "MRS" RVRGIRL 2 you.....
