I don't use virus programs because there's too many viruses coming out everyday for them to keep up, personally I think it's a waste!. :)

That's why the good programs have an option "Check for Updates"

Make sure you also stay on top of your Critical Windows Updates as well. I run Norton, never have a problem. Used to have a problem with Pop-Ups... not anymore though!
