Are you going back?

The contract doesn't look as bad as it could have been for those of us already employed. The next generation got the shaft, though.  I see the union won on the meatcutter isssue. It still stinks, nonetheless.

They didn't let Stater's employees vote, so I didn't hang around for the play by play discussion.

Five months ago, I had no job.  Now I have two . :rotflmao  I worked at Staters today and will again on Wednesday and Sunday.  I'll work at Albertson's on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  This is a temporary deal until I decide which job to quit.  I'm thinking that I want to stay at Staters, but I would have to step down to a Fourth Manager postion to do so.  I can keep my Third Manager position at Albertson's, but I've REALLY lost respect for them. :angry  Tomorrow should be interesting. :eek

better lots of work than no work. this rain shit is killing me. anyway,i'm glad they got stuff sorted out for you guys. can't wait to have our normal people back at our local ralphs. still,ralphs will never see anywhere near the same amount of bis. from us as they used to. they forced me to get a costco membership and it's been saving us a bundle. only go to ralphs for little things here and there.

I hear that. While working at Stater's, I've heard a bunch of customers say that they wouldn't go back to their old stores.  In fact, I even have a $50 Stater Bros. gift card to spend now, courtesy of the boss to say "thanks" for helping out. :good

Doug, I hope you can work it out to be best for you in the long run..I wasn't a fan of the union strike but I do have feelings for those that were directly effected by it(no love lost on Mickey Kasperian tho :angry )- Staters sounds like you'll have friendlier shoppers than if going back. :good

Knowing several people (including my sister-in-law) who work/have worked for Albertson's, it sounds like they are a really lousy company to work for--even before the strike.  Stater's isn't much better, but They seem a little more compassionate (emphasis on "little") regarding a social life.  I do know that our key carriers have to practically have someone die to get a weekend off, but at least you can get a transfer if you move without much difficulty.
