Thanks you all for the kind words, it was a good BDAY.

Well it started off like Shit. I got pulled over a block from my house yesterday morning. I have a Silverado with a locker rear end so she doesnt like going around wet corners very well. I sqealed the tires from a Stop sign and wouldnt you know it there was a Sherrif right there in the "OK" parking lot. He asked me to step out of my car and TOLD me to sit down on the Curb (me being defiant in situations where I feel are excessive) I said "I dont want to sit down, I'll Stand" well I guess he didnt like that because he had me sit in the back of the Cop Car??? WTF. Anyway I was searched, Truck was searched, passengers were searched and then he gave me a ticket for "Exibition of Speed" on the ticket he wrote I was doing 20 in a 25 preffered and a max of 30.

Does anyone have any legal advice? I hear this is a FAT ticket?

Sorry 'bout the ticket, but....

good legal advice here....do what the cop tells ya and chances are you'd have gotten off with a warning :rolleyes

Just explain nicely that you have a Locker in the rear and it doesn't differentiate going around corners.
Most cops are pretty understanding about that stuff. But, if you give them a hard time, they can....and will, make it worse for you.

You'd have thought that by 31 you'd have learned that by now

I was the same way, always gave cops crap and I always ended up in Jail (make note here, never ask a cop, "Hey, how's your wife and my kids doing?" or say "I'm not Rodney King, I'll get one of you") :eek

Anyways, pay the ticket, it ain't worth the hassle. Just chalk it up to a lesson learned

I'm not sure about down there, but up here there is an online little class you can take so that the ticket doesn't go on your record. And remember, this ain't no Bo and Luke Duke thing anymore...

Yeah that does suck but I don't think it's worth the hassle of fighting it and the chance of losing it anyhow and that would suck even more. I'd just go to Traffic School, it's only one day and it don't go on your record. :good

Thanks for the reply but I am not getting "lubbed up" for this one...

This is a 2 point Violation and in the long run I can see it costing thousands of dollars with insurance and court fees not to mention traffic school is not an option.

From the stop sign(where I turned the tires) to the next light (where I stopped) was about 100ft. The cop was in the parking lot facing the away from my vehicle. He guestimated my speed, he only heard the tires.

I am going to take pictures, especially since the gutter at the stop sign always has water running which was the case on Sunday morning.

I have to at least try it's in my stubborn, competitve, Rash, demented, hasty, Kick ass kind of attitude!
