| Quote (Sleek-Jet @ June 16 2004,6:13 am) | OK, we had a hartbeat, but the patient died again.  Drove the truck around a little yesterday, shut it off and re-started several times no problem.
Went to the movies (took my niece to see Shrek II, highly recomended).
Came home and went to move the Blazer, no dice.  Put the pressure gauge on it, and still the 10 - 11 psi, so I'm guessing the regulator is bad (all it is is a rubber diaphram with a spring on it), and allowing fuel to return to the tank and not go to the injectors.  ÂÂ
More surgury is planned for tonight, I'll keep everyone posted. |
Well since I don't know jack shit about newer Chevys, is your fuel pump in the tank? If it is, you need to be sure to keep plenty of gas in there as internal pumps require complete submersion to keep from overheating. It could be that diaphram or you could have a leaky injector allowing air to get into the system.
My Bullitt, my wife's Contour and our Escape occasionally pulls the same "no start" stunt. Crank, crank, crank and no fire up. I've just learned to just turn the key to on, let the pump recharge the line and then crank it over. Works every time for me.
It's all part of owning nothing but Fords.
