By taking a 5 day average of "unique" hits to the site in comparison to the others signed up for that deal.  It doesn't matter how many multiple times each of us visits the board in 1 day, cuz we each only count once per day. The new day starts at 4 PM Pacific time, so the hits from 5 days ago will drop off and we start a new day.  This site might jump up a little at 4 PM because we will only lose 60 hits, and the average since that day is over 100 per day. :D

CE, I'm still kicking myself over that call change and it's been years.  Here's the deal.  My Novice call was KC6NHL, which is kind of cool because of the NHL.  When I went to Technician, I only applied for a call change because they had been issueing 1x3's for that class, i.e., N6XXX, which I thought would be cooler.  My plan backfired because they ran out of 1x3's and reissued me a new 2x3, which was KC6PEI.  I cried about it, but the FCC just sent me some legal mumbo jumbo saying I was stuck with it. :angry

I just renewed mine last month. What a hassel. It can only be done online. It took me 2 hours of fighting on line and another hour on the phone and online at the same time!!

Barney's not signed up for that deal. In fact it's mostly non-hot boating sites like for fisherman and stuff.  To see the list, click on the "Top 100 Boating Sites" banner at the bottom of the page.  My rival on there is "Lake Norman Fun".  We link to each other, but compare as well. :D

I think I answered my own question, from tech+ to tech, right??

This was back in the good old days when you HAD to know code.  There was just 1 tech class.  Then the no-code tech came along. ;)

I've forgotten it anyway, cuz I'm retired now. :rotflmao  I renewed my license though.  At the time, I thought is was cool just in case I got trapped in a capsized boat or something and I could pound morse code signals through the hull. :rotflmao

Hardly.  In my F-350, which I rarely drive, I have 440, 2m, 10m, and of course CB.  I can't remember the last time I used any of it.  I have nothing but a cell phone in my F-150. It's still sort of interesting, but I don't want to spend money on new equipement.  All I used my 440/2m handheld most recently for was to listen to the cops.  They went to an 800 MHz encrypted trunked system so it's over now. :)
