X-prize story

For those of you that don't know (and it's most of the population since the mass media has all but glossed this over), the X-prize is a competion to see who could make and fly the first civilian space vehicle (actually sub-orbital, but we have to start somewhere).  Several teams were in the running, but Scaled composites got there first.

This whole exersize is to give the civilian space market a jump start, which it badly needs.  

The next stop??  There is now a competition to field the first orbital civilian space vehicle, and the X-prise people are going to host an annual gathering in the New Mexico desert.
