I didnt even have one drink before this happened. I was going through a little channel that opens up into the river and ran out of water. (I'm the one in the boat).

That's never happened to me in real life, but it has been a reoccurring nightmare for me. There's 2 dreams I hate. 1) That my teeth are falling out and 2) that there's no water under the boat. :eek

Never happened to me but a buddy of mine had two instances where his boat went dry.
Once was at Senator Wash, reservoir dropped majorly overnight, left his boat about 75' from the waterline.
Another time his steering linkage broke(bolt fell out) while cruising down the water, boat started to drift left toward the edge/cliff, so he jambed it into reverse and rammed the throttle only to have his boat jump forward right into the hillside of boulders/rocks. It almost rolled over but luckily slid sideways back into the water, small hull crack let some water seep in afterwards.
So the reason his boat(jet) jumped forward was because the steerring nozzle itself(inclusive of reverse flap) was what broke loose so he was shooting solid thrust.
Moral, check your hardware regularly :peace

I was going down river at about 40 when I started going through this little channel that usually has a foot or two of water. Once I realized there was only about six inches of water I pushed the boat up to about 50 to help draw less water. I looked down at the water once and saw the ripples in the sand and when I looked up there was nothing but sand in front of me. I shut down the motors and slid right up the sand bar.
After beaching the boat is when the drinking started. We all got drunk and dug a ditch with a little shovel and an oar. Once we had about three inches of water the big guy in the picture pushed us off.

Glad you came out OK (and the dog wasn't hurt)

I guess I've been pretty lucky, had a few close calls up river from Needles......believe me the first run up will be nice and slow this year. Just to make sure things are still where they aren't. :stupid

My dogs are so stupid. Every time they hear the engines shut down they jump out of the boat. My wife was able to hold on to the mini shnauzer but the retreiver jumped out and somehow managed to not get runover. When he jumped out we were still going at least 20.

Hey... Was that in the little cove in the gorge? I saw someone beached that looked like you but there was another red boat there so I thought it was all under control....

This happen north of pichacho state park between the islands. We did end up next to someones camp, I dont remember If the boat was red or blue.
