Nope, I think Steve's son would shoot him if he ever sold it.
There's a pretty cool story to go along with the car as well.  Steve's mother-in-law bought that car new and drove it for a number of years.  Eventually it was passed down to the kids and was sold to someone outside the family, disappearing entirely not to long after that.  And as all good hot rod stories go, Steve was in the junk yard one day searching for a part or two when he ran accross what was left of the old Falcon.  Someone had tried to rod it out 70's style by hacking out the rear fender wells and jacking up the back end.  It also had lost alot of it's original parts, but he couldn't bear to see it go by the way side.  Ended up buying that car along with a couple other Falcons and a Ranchero for parts, then started a restoration. ÂÂ
When he was done, the little car had a 351 and a T10 trannie along with a restored top and interior and fresh paint.  It looks like a stock Falcon, right down to the 13" wheels and tires and wheel covers.  Some of the trim pieces he couldn't get so they are kind of pounded back out, but the trim looks a little...um.... off.  By this time Grandma (his mother-in-law) was given the car to drive around and did so for almost 16 years.  Just in the last few years was the car given back to Steve.  He's been toying with the idea to go back through it and fix the few things that are still not right (like the trim pieces) and make it into a drivable show piece. ÂÂ
Next time I'm up in Colorado, I'll see if I can get some pictures. |
Yeah that's what I figured That's a cool story, wish I could find one of my cars that I owned at one time!..
