We lived in LHC for 6 months back in '82 (wanted to stay, but there was little work and what work there was, I made more on my Cali unemployment) and we had 1-1/2 to 2 weeks that it didn't get below 100 and there were a few days that they reported an "unofficial" temp of 132! It does seem to be a little warmer this year but I still say that it was hotter 20 to 30 years ago than it is now (global warmin'; yeah right). I remember "growin' up" (now that's funny) in Eagle Mountain, CA and there were summers that we would go for weeks and not see it in the 90s. I've been out dunin' at 3:00AM and it still be 105. So, drink a few more beers (which, BTW, is not a good idea as far as coolin' down) and relax; October is only 2 1/2 months away! |
seemed hotter then because we had no A/C. More concrete and ashphalt now to hold in the heat. I don't care what anyone says, this time of year is just hotter than hell! but we forget about it very easy in late september! |
We must have been on the good side of town when we lived in Havasu. We had A/C; just couldn't afford to run it! Remember gettin' our first bill and it bein' almost $300! Mind you this bein' in 1983. Also remember comin' up with the BIG PLAN of runnin' the A/C durin' the day and shuttin' it off at night and openin' up the windows. WRONG! BBQd everythin' 'cause it was too damn hot to cook inside; and spent almost all day everday at "State Beach" to keep cool! "My lifestyle determines my deathstyle!" -Metallica
