Comcast can't get anyone out till Friday Tried the phone help guys  they are clueless. I'm thinking my RCA cable modem is on the fritz Looking at my device manager its only showing a Lucent modem no RCA. But the "add hardware" even with the disc ain't seeing nothing
I may take the network down and just go direct to the main computer ethernet card. I'm getting no USB activity on the modem diagnostics off the RCA CD.
I hate computers    |
Cable modem to a Linysys Router with Wireless Access Port...DONE....  Cable direct to the main computer and USB Wireless ports on any other computer.... |
Saw those cable modem/wireless router they are the sh!t right now thats for sure, linysys is supposedly Cisco But at $170 +/- it would have to be a gift from Santa. Wait I am Santa  ÂÂ
I bypassed my router and went direct from modem to the computer last night and got nada. I'm thinking my ethernet card took a poop |
It could be the card.....you could pop open the case, re-seat the card, and see if Windows will recognize it....
It could also be the power supply to the modem itself. It's lit up, but the voltage may not be there to drive the signal....had something similiar happen.....$10 power supply fixed it....
Your device manager is showing a modem, prob. the internal/analog one on the machine. The device manager does not see the cable modem, as it feeds into the 'net card.
Damm you Bill Gates....
