So I went to dinner last night and when I paid with my Credit Card the waiter came back with my signature slip and he had charged me for the wrong table! Instead of running my card for $74 he ran it for $147. Ã‚Â So they promised they had corrected it... Well I check my bank account today and not only is that $147 charge on there but there is a charge for $225!!! So I call the bank and they can't help, I call the restaurant and they say they don't have any record of a $225 charge, and if I want to I can come down and show them my bank statement!!! WTF!! They say it was a computer program error on the restaurants side, I wonder how many other people got over charged! So long story short they aren't going to do anything for me and I just have to wait 1-5 days to see if the almost $400 in extra charges go back into my account! DICKS! So if you live in or near Huntington Beach don't go to Cavallino on Beach and Adams!
ALSO! I rented a quad from this company called Recreation Unlimited in Placentia over Christmas, and they are being all shady about giving me my $250 deposit back! It's been over 2 weeks now since I returned the bike, they say that they can't find my file or some s#*@! GURR!! I hope this doesn't continue to happen to me all year!!!!! :fight

I've been having fun with CC lately myself... must be the new year... luckily everything has been taken off mine, but it's still a pain in the ass...

The worst part is that it is my debit card, so that $650 is missing from my account! I'm poor! I can't have dough like that missing from my account! :guns

That's one reason I keep my debit card limited to a couple hundred a day... but I can sympathise... I'd be running on fumes myself if that happened to me...

Whatever you do, don't use the debit card for internet purchases.
Even if it has a Visa or M/C logo on it, if you have a problemo they won't help you out. It's up to the issuing Bank...and we all know how helpful they can sometimes be...don't we?? :stupid

Believe it or not, I found Discovercard to be the most helpful. They will even reverse a Paypal charge if you used their card to make the Paypal transaction. I've really pissed off the Paypal people a couple of times. They told me I would have to wait 2 weeks while they "Investigate"...no I didn't.

Discover gave me my money back within the hour and told Paypal to deal with it. :good

Sorry to hear about your woes N.T.....but thanks for the heads-up. I've been invited to dinner in H.B. next week, I'll ask for the name of the place first!

Sorry to hear about the BS. As far as the CC thing goes, I'd say give it a few days. I know once in a while I have to correct a customers CC and it usually takes a couple of days for all the BS to go through the system and reflect on teh person bank account.

Keep us posted, I may have other solutions if your account isn't credited in 2-3 days. Still sucks though.

Well I got part of my $ back... The incorrect charges from the resturant were cleared today, but get this, they still charged me for my dinner... The place is a new resturant, it just opened last week, they should be bending over backwards for me! You would think all the trouble they caused me and me out $400 all weekend they would have given me a free meal or something... Sheesh... As for my deposit from the rental place, I got the same answer today that I got last week, "Sorry the manager is not in and I don't do deposit returns"... I told them I would be there Thursday to pick up my deposit and they better have it ready! :angry

They don't know that I am a paralegal and my boss' would be extremely willing to take any measures necessary to get my $ back, so they better watch out...
Now my newest problem is a purchase on ebay... Can't get the seller to respond when it's gonna be shipped, I paid over 2 weeks ago, guess I will have to call paypal or something... :fight
