MOHAVE VALLEY, AZ - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested 66-year-old Gerald Wayne Horne of Needles for using his car to run down a man - all after an argument with the man's teenage son. Monday night at around 8:00pm, MCSO responded to an accident on Dike Road and Barrackman. A 17-year-old victim told police Horne had hit him in the back of the head during an argument the two had after the accident. Officers said the teen told his 43-year-old dad about Horne hitting him.
The teen's father approached Horne, who was now behind the wheel of his car; MCSO said the suspect deliberately hit the father with his vehicle. Fort Mohave Tribal Police also responded and drove the victim to Needles Hospital.
A short time later, MCSO deputies stopped Horne about a mile up the road, where they said he failed a field sobriety test with a blood alcohol level of .227%. Horne was arrested and booked on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an injury/accident and aggravated DUI. Horne also received misdemeanor citations for DUI, extreme DUI and driving with a suspended driver's license.
Way ta go Gerry....  ÂÂ
