Can't help with a contact but the scraping is very messy but rather easy.
First drape the room off with visqueen, hanging it from the corners of the ceiling and covering the floor completely, get a garden sprayer, like you would apply Round Up with, wet the ceiling, not to the point that it is dripping but it needs to be pretty moist, then using a large 12" minimum broad knife (putty knife) scrape it down, just be careful not to tear the paper. I did my Living room, Dining room and Hallway in less the 3 hours, infact tha hardest thing and most time consuming was hanging the plastic. Then you will need to find a texture guy that can come in and finish it off, by doing the scraping yourself you will probably save a minimum of $500, could be as high as $1,000 depending on the area size. |
Thanks, don't have any desire to do it on my own, it just never comes out right. Got a quote last week for $3600 for the whole house just looking for a better deal. Thanks though!! Goin to the river to destroy my liver!
