Although I haven't read the document myself (but I should) I understand the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo states that Spanish would remain one of the official languages of New California.  

Not implying that I agree with it, though.

I served 10 fockin years in the military for this country the U.S.A.   I did not do 3 overseas tours, get shot at, be away from my family, and many sleepless and painful nights to here my country sing the anthem in Spanish.
Fockin politicians should serve some time in the military before they can be elected to make bull shit decisions.
