We went to an adult soapbox derby last weekend at the neighbors.  It lasted 2 whole days before someone got hurt.  Late Saturday night right after we left, two guys decided to make another run (pitch black down a dirt driveway on about a 100' hill about 500' long). One guy loses control and flips it, luckily, he is the owner of the property.  He goes end over end in the road, while his car goes the other way. The other driver doesn't see him in the road and runs clean over him and flips his vehicle.  The results?  The first guy received 11 broken ribs and a fractured vertebrae.  The other driver only some scrapes, but a terrible feeling in his gut.  It was bound to happen.  Thankfully, no one was killed and Sportin' Wood was smart enough to not build a car. :D
