The other night my wife got a call from a friend.....all I could overhear was, "your kidding", "OMG", etc.....

Turns out, her husband went and bought a boat! A brand new boat. Hasn't even heard it run!:eek

Never said a word. He's not "Into" boats, didn't ever talk about boats, never showed an interest.

We've invited them out many times, they could never go. We left the invitation open ended......

His wife is PISSED! :fight

We went over that night (well heck, I had to see it didn't I?) and she didn't seem too bad.

My wife tells me today that her friend called and thinks she's  kinda sorta having some kind of break-down, she's still so pissed!



Man, I don't know...I don't think I'd do that...buy a boat out of the blue like that....

..not that boat anyway. :D

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

I think that the G/F knew about the first one, the second she hadn't a clue, I owned 2 for a short time, and the third she knew something was up when I sold the second boat......

He got a Reinell 240C 24' Cuddy cabin. He wants to be able to zip over to Catalina and back. They have a 2 year-old so he thought the cuddy would work best......ever been in a cuddy on a 24' boat in the channel between L.A. and Catalina?  :puke

It was kinda dark when I went over to look at it...walked around back and saw a gleaming S.S. prop, felt the skeg....never been wet. I told him to take the prop off and save it for later. :D

It has the Volvo 5.7...should get him there and back just fine. :good

I guess I'm a "different kind of wifey" I'd be stoked if Miller came home with a brand new boat...heck he can come home with a hundred boats if he wants to...What the heck is she upset about...tell her to take a chill pill...having a boat is the best!!!!!!  :D

yeah I get a little  :puke  on those smaller boats out to catalina...even that 'express' option to go as a tourist...  :puke  :puke  :puke  I don't do well when I'm 'indoors' on a boat...lol

I think she's cooled off some by now. I wish they would at least make a trip out to the river with us before he drags her out into the ocean :eek

My wife freaked out a bit when I told her that I bought another boat.  It wasn't going to be ready for a week or so, but the boat show was in town so I took her there to show her what I bought.  They had the same thing there, only new, and she looked at the sticker and said "please tell me you didn't pay $63,000 for a boat".  When I told her how much I paid for the used one, she was actually happy.  She's got that mentality where she comes home after buying clothes telling me how much she saved buying them on sale.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills boaters.  Take the time to learn about it and how to avoid it.
