OK. It's 2 days before Christmas, and it's out of control in the supermarket. That's a given though. A guy requests from the Front End Manager to see me, only cuz my pic is on the wall. He has an apple that has a few bites missing and he wants me to identify it as coming from our store. I said "I couldn't tell you. It's an apple. The same one's that they sell at every other supermarket around". "If you're asking for a refund though, NO PROBLEM  ". He, then, tells me his story. He needed to know the source of the apple, cuz evidently some kids had thrown it at his house. He got their description AND LICENSE PLATE NUMBER! He wanted my direction on what to do. HUH?  I said "If you have property damage or you want them prosecuted, I suggest you call the police and file a report". He still felt like we were liable in some way and insisted I take the license number. I said "OK, there's nothing we can do with it. The crime is against you, not us, but I'll take this description and post it on the wall for every other manager to see." All this while the store was out of control 2 days before Christmas!

My guess is that's why he was the target of the apple throwing teenagers! 
(they had to move it outside for a specific amount of time and I didn't see it outside...wack...caught me right in the temple...that was painful)
Even the whole Miller thing is coming into perspective.
