So I've got the kids Beemer while he is traveling around Cali. Got to put tires and maybe a PS rack in it while he's gone. :break  So I did an oil change on it and took it for a spin to see how its holding up. Stopped at the store for the evenings restock of Brews :beer  and when I went to leave I couldn't get the dam thing in Reverse :banghead , after fockin with it, I remember my kid had said there was a trick to it :alien , so now I'm pulling, pushing, twisting :break Finally I have Becky get the Owners Manual out and the Bastards :angry  put reverse next to first gear with a push down type lockout. Dam over-engineering Germans :D

My '55 Austin Healy was a right hand set-up originally and they just swapped steering wheel locations for export to the States! :rolleyes

That, coupled with the electronic overdrive in 3rd and 4th, the transmission was real fun to get used to initially. But talk about fun to drive. :good

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

I should have clarified 5spd stick shifts, lots of 4 speeds were left and up. But who drives 4 speeds anymore, they are so 70's ;)

Think about it Kevin..............how likely would it ever be to accidently hit reverse in a aggressive driving manner with it next to first apposed to next to 3rd,4th or 5th?
The Ultimate Driving Machine design take alot into consideration since they are very successful race cars too.

Speaking of over-engineered :banghead The top is also quite tricky to get down :stupid  much less get it under the fockin cover :break  :D  Unlatch this, unhook that lift this up, now lift this up, now push this down, now fold this in, now latch this :banghead We could put the tops down in our Vettes with one hand sitting in the seat ;)

Be glad it was a manual roof on that car, the electric ones bent stuff.

New cars only take a push of the button and about 30 seconds.
Next year they'll have a hardtop retractable roof :D

I sae a deal on t.v. on a BMW that didn't have a steering wheel or peddles, it was all run with a joy stick in the center consol....

I haven't seen that, although I know SAAB has done it and did some real world testing on that, afterall Saab does build some of the gnarliest fighter jets in the world... :plane  :plane
