Sometimes you never know what life will bring or take from you.  I'm of the mindset that you should save for the future - but also have some fun along the way to retirement.  You never know what life will hand you, sometimes it's unexpeceted "good", sometimes it's unexepected "bad". Life is a balance...work/relax, save/spend, office/home, etc...
So the other day a co-workers husband is in the office, he's complaining that he has these lumps on the side of his neck.  They go to the doctor...think it's a swolen gland. His doctor says take some anti-inflamitories, check back in a couple of weeks. He goes back, they refer him to this place and that place.  He goes in for a cat scan, and another cat scan. Long story short, they think it's cancer...they are waiting for the results on the biopsy. This all transpired last week, biopsy was las Friday.
I walk in the office on Monday...."Did you hear what happened? His nephew got in an accident this weekend and was killed. They are driving up today to make some funeral arrangements." I haven't gotten the details, but it sounds like he was in a bad car accident and ended up dieing. This is his only nephew, his brothers only son.
At work today...results of the biopsy are in, he has cancer.  They found out today, it inoperable and he has to do the chemo and radiation treatment....48, two kids in their 20's, etc...
