Well... i've stumbled into a boat crew.

Now... i want to make sure not to freak them out.

So... if someone had never been exposed to "some" of the weird things that happen on the river... (and i just say this because i can only immagine.. being from other wild-water areas..)

if a family that had never been on the water, would they be shocked..? or is it more "family oriented"... (half and half)
depending on where you go....?

I think more than anything, it depends on WHEN you go. If you go on a holiday or 3 day weekend, you are bound to see some crap regardless of where you go on the lake. Off weekends are way more mellow and mid-week is even better for families. Usually the worst you see are pasties and thongs as law enforcement doesn't tolerate anything more than that. I wouldn't worry about running into an orgy or anything like that. :rotflmao

From what I have seen, the south half of the lake seems to be more mellow and family oriented. The wilder stuff happens in Copper Canyon (midpoint) and the sandbar (upriver), but the cops do patrol those areas as well.

I'd agree with Doug says as well........however pretty much any weekend will produce some sort of wildness at the Sandbar, Copper Canyon has mellowed but may still get a boob flash now and then. The Channal can get a little raunchy but they are beefing up enforcement there heavily to clean it out. It really isn't bad, depends on how much you wanna see 'stuff', or if you truely focus on finding it.
Holiday weekends the twice-a-year crazies show up and ruin it because they believe they have a free pass to be complete idiots. :rolleyes

Anywhere else on the lake you can expect to have a great day with the family, alongside many other families. Some families have hot moms so don't get them confused

The first time William saw the Sandbar and the Channel (on the weekend of the April Poker run) his eyes were stuck open as wide as Nancy Pelosi's. But most weekends it's not bad. It is a large lake and only a few parts get wild. Just don't start out with a big holiday weekend (it's too crowded then anyway). We usually camp down in Black medow landing and it is family friendly, but their ramp kinda sucks.

i think it will be nice, i am sure the girls will like it.. i just dont want to get them where someone might offer them drinks and stuff.... and they're great kids, so we'll just bring some friends and park with other boats with kids, that usually works, cause i always parked where there were no kids.

and yes, hot moms are something else...
heck, its hard to tell mom from the kids...

Up river from Havasu proper (past the sand bar) it is more low key.....unless you stumble into the "Secret Spot" :eek
