To follow-up on Shue's post about those pesky mussels found in Lake Mead, California has been inspecting the aqueduct and last week two divers died. :(

Looks like they will be inspecting boats at the agricultural checkpoints. :rolleyes

"The California Department of Fish and Game and the California Department of Food and Agriculture, meanwhile, are continuing to inspect boats coming back into California from the Colorado River at agriculture checkpoints, including one near Barstow, said Troy Swauger, a Fish and Game Department spokesman."

Think about the Vidal Junction Inspection station......I've rarely seen them out of their seats in the last several years. I'd expect that one to move at slow mo.

Storage places will be at a premium.... :banghead
I'm thinking some of the costs to restart inspections and fund the "mussel wars" will be passed through the DFG...and ultimately down to the recreational boating community as well... :beat

From the little that I've read, I would expect it.... a quick surface check AND a look inside that your bilge is dry....might as well leave the "plug" loose or out until you launch... :beat

Our work boat was inspected at the I-40 inspection station at Needles a couple of weeks ago. They spent about 5 minutes looking at the hull, trailer bunks and outboard.

I am not a Gynecologist, but I'll take a look.

They travel in water and on the weeds/grasses...their spores (or whatever the're called) are what is spreading to new areas.

A dry bilge/hull and a clean trailer is all ya need...so I've read.  If you use lake water for boat plumbing, be sure to flush out those lines as well.
