Hey JBB, I'll be out your way next week.  I fly into Atlanta Monday then drive to Augusta for three days and drive back to Atlanta Thurs night.  I fly out first thing in the morning on Friday.   :plane

Happy to hear you'll be on vacation, sorry to hear I'll miss you, and.... No thank you to ANYWHERE in GA - or the south -  during the summer.  It's gonna be bad enough for the week I'm there.  I'm a wimp when it comes to being soggy all day without even doing anything.  I hate humity.   :(   I don't understand how anyone could live outside of CA, AZ or NV.  I just don't get it.  :stupid (sorry JJB, Sleekjet, KimHanson, and anyone else if I've offended you).  It's just my opinion.   :eek

Been wondering the same thing for years....  :D
However
-The people for the most part are very nice
-gangs for the most part are not a problem
-Our lakes are actually the kind you can swim in
-avg launch ramp wait is 5 min
-Taxes ,comparatively are very low
-River cops are all but nonexistant
-Housing and property are actually affordable
-rain and humidity does suck though!
-and no offense taken I am not from here but have been for
23 yrs.

Okay, so you got me on all the other non-weather related issues, they are all very true, but still.... those 2 or 3 months out the year are just crazy. - I'm glad you can see through it though and make the best of living there.   ;)

No offense taken.  Personally I like seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter, and Mud :D ) and from September till about the first couple of weeks in November, you can't drag me away from this part of the world.  Short boating season though.   :rolleyes .

Have a happy and safe 4th everyone.  

I'm going up to watch the fireworks in Silverton this year, (big bangs and sparklies against 14000 ft peaks is pretty cool)

HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY !!!  

a thought.... I'm always amazed to find at least one person during this holiday that get's the answer to this question wrong...

"Do other countries have a 4th of July?"  

Answer: Yes, it is just a date.  They do not however, celebrate it as Independance day like we do in the good ol USA.  

A sign I saw in Texas this last week,
"If you Drink and you Drive, you go directly to Jail."  I thought it was cute.
