We needed Margarita salt at the house, so we pick some up this morning with our groceries and when the cashier rang it up she told us "Sorry you have to wait till after 10am, its under the no booze till after 10 law"    :say?  :pissed

Next time go to the spice isle and pick up sea salt... it's the same stuff and they sell it all week long.

My local Von's has the "salt" in the liquor dept and spice isle.
One restricted and one not, same salt? I'm going to test this one. This could be really funny, like it's not already.

In Colorado, where you can't buy any liquor on Sunday I had this experience once.

I was out of Bloody Mary mix... so I went to the local convenience store that had a liquor store attatched (you can't buy hard alcohol or anything more than 3.2 beer anyplace other than a booze shop) to get a bottle of mix.  Even though the mix had 0% hooch in it, there was no way they could sell me anything for the liquor store on Sunday.  That's the way the blue laws read.  I'm sure that AZ is the same way.  The guy that owned the conveniece store said to me that the liquor store doesn't even exist on Sunday.  I ended up getting a couple bottles of V8 and some tobasco...

Been there, done that. Me and a couple of buddies were up in Durango doing some fly fishing, and we had to go to the local bar to cure our aching feet. :drink  Instead of hanging out at the cabin we rented.

Sounds like a newbie.  As a clerk in the situation, I run over to the shelf (I go myself because the box help is too dang slow) get the price, punch it in as a grocery item, since that's what it is, and good to go.  There are many ways to be smarter than the computer.  Use your brain folks.  :pissed

But at the stores I shop at, they're not smarter than a 5th grader. They do ask me if I need help taking the salt to the car though. Some day I'm going to say Yes.

Back in the day, it was much the same for me at Market Basket.  Ran the Liq Dept and we closed it down on Sundays, even had "fencing" to shield it from the customers... :eek

No liquor, mix, salt, bitters (?), etc.  If it had a Liq Dept sticker, we'd just ring it on Grocery (Angie style)... :D
