FBT (Flyinbowtie) and I have been talking about a get together with the HB'ers at Hot August Nights in Reno this coming August.

Its usually around the week of August 10th and we will have more info on lodging, camping etc around the Feb timeframe.

Its basically a HUGE car show with lots of HotRod activities etc and some discussion on another board about it got us thinking that it might be a good place for some of us to get together, non boating deal.  

Apparently I'm the last of a dying breed with most of the Nor Cal  people gone from this board, but we would love to have any of you that are interested.

LOL, yes its 2008.... I'm plannin a bit ahead.   :D    FBT is going to check on accomodations etc.  

Will be great to finally meet the TPC's and others as well.


I'm going to have to send FBT a link to this site...he'll love me for addicting him to yet another site but he is a great addition and I need some Nor Cal buddies again LOL.   I'm gonna go wake up Oldsquirt as well.   He just had another Bday so he doesn't get around much anymore.  :beat  :drama

I'll be there, I already warned my folks that there is going to be some drunken debauchery at there house that week when my boating friends show up, they said they may have to hook up their house on wheels and go away for a few days...  :good  I am also going to drag my boat up there for that week, a day on Tahoe, Lahontan and possibly Pyramid, should be a good time and a real fuel burner... :D :D

Got your message Traci. Just what I need, another place to yak...thanks tho for the invite :good

Yeah, HAN is is kick, we are looking at staying out at Boomtown, which is just west of Reno about 5 miles via I-80.
There is a hotel, an RV Park with full hookups, and several restuarants in the casino.
The new Cabela's Outfitters opens 11-16-07 and is right next door, to Boomtown. Cabelas is another cool place, darn near a destination on it's own. The best info I have right now is that Boomtown begins taking reservations for the HAN weekend on Feb. 1. The HAN deal runs for several days, we like to get there Wed. night to get a good nights sleep so that we can be at the Swap meet/ car corral early in the am when the best deals go.
I have stayed at my son's apartment in the past, but it looks like he may not be there next year, if that is the case we will load the camper on the truck and stay in Boomtown's RV park, & run back and forth into Reno in another vehicle, I don't know if it will be the '40 or not at this point.
I'll post up more info when I have it.

I don't know about that, I think the woodward dream cruz is bigger, But yes the hot Aug. night show is big, I would love to make the one someday, So maybe not next year, but someday.
