My call is KC6PEI (formerly KC6NHL).  You see when I moved from Novice to Technician, I applied for a new call thinking I was going to get a 1 x 3 call.  The FCC responded saying those were all issued so they were reissuing me a 2 x 3.  I responded, "In that case, I'll just keep my original call".  They said too late, you're KC6PEI.   |
Could Go For A Vanity... KC6HDF....It's Not Taken!! |
I don't know how it works in AZ, but I know how it works in CA. Call plates are in a separate category from vanity plates. While you pay a yearly premium for vanity plates, you do NOT for call plates. You DO have to show the CA DMV your license though. As I recall, they block any letter/number combinations that COULD be a call from the vanity side. My F-350 has my call and I have a vanity for my F-150, which is HVSUDUG.
