We rented direct from the owner who has a lockbox outside the door with a key in it...we couldn't get into the lockbox but it just so happened the door was unlocked. That made us a little uneasy. All went fine but it was a bit un-nerving after I'd just told Jan about your incident. . It's nice to see you take it in stride Angie. It sucks for sure either way but it ain't worth the stress of getting overly angry about something you can't change now. |
Are you still up there?  If you are, talk about perfect timing!  Jeff actually went and bought a new deadbolt and installed it so we could sleep without worrying if someone was in our house.  Then he changed it back right before we left.  Our friend, Gary, still slept on the couch every night with his gun loaded.  It was pretty funny when he asked the officer if he could shoot the next intruder.  Her response, without missing a beat, "Just remember the following words. . . you were in fear for your life."  I love Montana   If he had asked that in Kalifornia, the officer would have got all cross and butt hurt and said something like "Don't take the law into your own hands, leave it to the professionals." |
Got home last night...see Unburied thread. That was smart thinking on Jeff's part but in our case the condo manager simply forgot to change the code on the lockbox before we arrived. As it was the condo owner was so sorry about she bought us all dinner and then the manager was so sorry he brought us a $50 gift card....that works for me.
