Got my days off, condo, new camera, new hat...  Just need to thumb a ride in the channel... |
Thanks Shue, BigDog "you have mail"
Shue you couldn't be more right on the Benchmark, I just got out of a meeting/interview where I was interviewed by the Paper and we did a economic impact study of the event... the numbers are STAGERING!!!!!! and no one at the meeting could remember any event being this big. The only close ones that were brought up were ISJBA World Finals and the MTV deal of a few years ago, and all agreed those were not even close. I just can't believe how big this is over last years comparatively small poker run / show |
Considering the fuel expenses involved its even more astounding. |
200 boats burning at least $400 a day for 3 days = $1200 x 200 = $240k AVG. of 4 people per boat 800 x 3 days hotel stays 2400 x $200 = $480k they gota eat..so 7200 meals x $30 = $216k thats food, gas and hotel (just for the boats in the poker run) Damn near $1m, and most of these people stay the whole week, then there all the race crews/support rigs....hell the Detailers are cleaning up too
and then you have to consider the thousands of spectators here for a 3 or 4 day weekend...
it gets crazy real quick, by the time it's said and done I really don't think $10m into the economy is to far off base |
Since when do you crunch numbers? I thought knuckles on a radiator are more your style Ain't life Grand? Treat it that way. The Love of my Life, Jan.
