Any of you have or know anybody with a newer f250 or f350 with the 6.0 diesel in it, and what are the pro's and con's of this motor, I have heard bad things and good things, just want your take on it, I looking at one right now and seem to be a very nice truck, it's a 2003 with the 6.0 auto 3.73 rear gear, 4 doors and a cargo top, dark blue with black leather seats, I know I know, but I'm in ohio leather don't get hot here. LOL I might trade my truck in if they will work on a price, I'm going to go a ebay tonight to see what the going price is, I mean I might be able to get one out of the dry south west for the same price, oh this one has 55,000 miles.

03 was the first year for the 6 ltr....overall ok. Some had main seal leak issues, and injector issues. One of my technicians had his lemon lawed because they tried 4 or 5 times to fix his oil leaks to no avail. He got an 04 replacement and has had little to no problems with it.
If looking at one just go ask the dealer to run a warranty history on it and see if its been a problem child(repeatedly trying to fix the same issue) or not. Warranty repairs don't nec. mean it was bad, you just don't want to see repeat repairs.

Never thought of that, I was on the ford board late last night til I fell asleep at the keyboard, I'm very uneasy about this, I do not want to get stuck with a bad truck, abd I don't want to have to worry every time I go on a road trip, I don't need to get rid of my truck right now, I like my truck, I think I might pass on this, going to go take another ride today with it.

Nothing wrong with mine, I just would like to step up to the 4door with more room in the back for the kids. Hey glen have you heard bad things about these motors, I readly like this truck BUT!!!!! I'm a little scared about it, So I might just pass on it and look for a 4door 7.3

I don't know that I'd go with the first year on the 6.0 I hear that they have more than their share of bugs. I really like my 7.3 (2000), and I believe that they get better mileage than the 6.0.....the 6.0's have alot better top end though, if you wanna race it.

Thats what I have a 2000 with the 7.3 in it, and have haul my 30ft enclosed race car trailer all over the country with not one problem, I even had 12,500 in the box and when all the way to to phx, and never had a hic up going up the mountains, so I think I'm going to pass on this truck, I went back up there and drove it around for a few hours, and she started to have a rough Idle back the time I took it back, I think I will just look for a 02 or 03 with the 7.3 in it and 4 doors. Here's a few pic's of the truck, it sucks cuz I realy do like this truck, but I have to look past the color on it.

Make matter worst today, I was washing my f-250 and found out the cab corners are about to let go from the inside out, then as I was getting my trans am of the garage to take it for a cruz, it's starts raining, I OUIT!!!!!!

Just got the repair report on this truck, it was at the dealership 21 time for work done to it, the first time it went in it had 365 miles on it, the last time it was in the shop was at 43,744 on 11-01-06. Not sure if this is a good sign or not.

Hey LB, it is a beautiful truck. Can you get it with an extended warranty? I can't imagine that much going wrong with it that the warranty won't cover. Just another thought.
