The Family treated me to dinner on Saturday for a belated birthday. We headed out w/o even an offer of breakfast or lunch which put me in a funk the whole trip and this is where we ended up at!



Saw this place on the Food Channel on a show called "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" w/Guy Fieri (great show) awhile back and said that I'd like to try it out sometime. Man, was da gig all giddy when we pulled up!.....and this is what da gig had.....



Was I ever glad they chose not to feed me beforehand! Even went overboard and chased it with a beer and two quarts of rum and coke. Now I remember why I don't drink much anymore!  I still feel like an 11 year old that hit dad's liquor cabinet!:drink
But I did not  :puke !

If you ever find yourself in Ocean Beach, stop by and try one. Don't think you'll be disappointed. :good

The best goody is that patty directly under the top bun! They prep their bacon and form it into a patty. None of that two strips of bacon crap! When you order a bacon-cheeseburger, you get a BACON- cheeseburger! :good That's what I had. My Son had a DOUBLE!  :eek Maybe when I was younger, but not now! The single damn near killed me! :p

Here ya go CE. Keep in mind that this pic is from Nov., 2007 and that everything is approximately 50cents higher across the board. Worth every penny as far as da gig is concerned. Fed eight of us for $97 plus tip and not one of us waddled away hungry! :good

Ho-Dad's is our all time favorite all the way back to  my surfing and lifeguarding days. Now I take my son there when we go surfing and we try to sit in the microbus whenever we can!   :good


Its a legend in OB and if you have the chance, take it!
Its just up the street from the pier and some pretty decent surfing!

Thanx Angie. Enjoyed it would be a definite understatement! The burger was so good that da gig ate that whole thing and didn't get one drop of grease down the front of his shirt; and if ya knew da gig the way the Family does you'd know that that ranks right up there on the "That Just Doesn't Happen" list. :p .....and don't feel too bad about the $13.50 burger. That's about the "goin' price" nowadays. Besides, you can blame Fragile Magic for not sharin' this place with us earlier! It's all his fault!
