Careful LB....folks will start to think you're an environmentalist!
Sadly, I think these events will become the norm as our weather cycle continues to change, whetherr naturally or human influenced.  We already know the BS about how strong our levee system is...what a joke.  Too much water in one part of the country, not nearly enough in the other, it's like someone is playing a cruel joke on us.
I have a very good friend from another board who lives in Iowa.  His 80+ year old parents just lost everything in the Cedar Rapids flooding, with the exception of one car and some clothes.  My friend just lost his wife to cancer a month ago, and he's a police officer.  To say his life is stressful at the moment would be an understatement. ÂÂ
They're saying that some of the small towns devastated in these floods may just disappear.  We hear about things like that happening in other countries, especially in the poorest areas, and yet we never expect it to happen to us.
