I bet a flight I was on a couple years ago going into LAX looked kinda like that...we got caught in wake turbulence on final final approach.  I had a window seat in front of the wing, and I'm looking out the window as we crossed the numbers,  knowing there is no way in hell we're going to land on the runway, and watching the pilots try to keep that right engine and wing from hitting the ground.  How they did it was beyond me...we were soooooooo close.  Kudos to the guys in the cockpit, they did an amazing bit of flying and got us powered up and back out over the ocean to regroup.    The pilot came on the intercom and apologized and flat out said that there was no way he was going to be able to land the plane safely, so he aborted the landing.  I wanted to hug and thank the pilots when I finally deplaned, but they were still in the cockpit with the door closed.  I think I was still shaking an hour later. |
I came into Reno one time with a strong crosswind, the   was flying sideways 'til we touched the ground then a sudden yank when it straightened up....gnarley stuff. A couple times on puddle jumpers between LAX and Carlsbad we had rollercoaster rides in strong Santa Ana's....my wife never took her face out between her legs, I wished she had it in my lap instead..LOL |
I suppose it would have been inappropriate to ask her to move. ÂÂ
Flying into Vegas is much the same.  It's always funny to see the looks on the faces of those who've never experienced it before.   |
Leaving Vegas is always a blast the way the planes feel as if they drop as they climb Ain't life Grand? Treat it that way. The Love of my Life, Jan.
