Its the first of my mom's birthdays since her passing earlier this year. :(
Luckily my dad had company from my Godmother, otherwise he may have had a really tough day.

Know that the best present you could give her is to continue to live your life with the values, ideals and compassion she raised you with, and to pass them on to your children....and to find happiness in something every day, in spite of your grief.  She's always with you.

You're a good son Zig. da gig struggles almost everyday with something that he had shared with Mom; and she left us in November, 2004. But you're right; the "special days" are even more difficult. Hang tough buddy 'cause she's watching and wouldn't want you top be saddened by you thinking that she's not there with you and your dad.

My mom's B'day today...hangin' tough at 84... :good   Everyone misses Dad, of course... :grouphug

Just had a family wedding.  Friends put together a slide-show for the kids and, when Dad's pictures came up...not a dry eye in the house... :cry  Good memories always... :beer

I spent a couple hours with dad yesterday, he seemed fine but he tends to act Stoic during times like this. My godmother, who also lost her husband a few years ago, was there visiting from Buena Park. The distraction of people being there certainly made it easier for him, I'm sure.
