All the high dollar rigging... and they still zip tie the hoses together...   |
Hey they come off quick tho...   |
And the best part is, they work!.. |
They might work... but it looks like crap... and cheap. |
It does!.. |
It does on rigging that is supposed to be the high water mark... such as the reputation Schiada has.
That's a lot of money wrapped up in braided lines, and to secure them with $.02 tye wraps is just not right.  Adel clamps of billet clamps would look much nicer.  Adel's (MS21919 clamps) are inexpensive, and do a better job of holding the hoses without pinching them... since that is exactly what they were designed to do.
Not to mention, zip ties and a little dirt and vibration will gladley eat through the metal braid.  I've seen zip ties saw through a 4130 steel engine mount. ÂÂ
Zip ties are a pet peave of mine... I used to use them all the time, but now that I've seen what kind of damage they do... about the only thing I use them on now, is securing wire harnasses. |
What are you doing wrong?, I've got braided line with zip ties that been on for 15 years, no problem and look at NASCAR!.. Now you want to talk ugly is adele clamps, they got to be the ugliest and the fact you have a bunch of screw holes all over the place, aluminum clamps are cool though!. But there's nothing wrong with zip ties if it's done up right!.. |
I've used zip-tye's for years without any problems...I do color match them, however. Keep plenty of spares on hand as well. "It seemed like a hell of an idea at the time".
