BROOK PARK, Ohio - Ford Motor Co. is holding a grand reopening for a suburban Cleveland engine plant that had been closed for two years.

The factory in Brook Park is now producing a new line of fuel-efficient engines that will be standard on the Ford Taurus SHO and optional on the Lincoln MKS and MKT, and on Ford Flex cars.

The automaker planned a welcome back celebration Tuesday at the plant, where some employees returned to work last month. Union officials expect 250 people will be on the job by September.

Ford says its 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine can achieve 20 percent better fuel economy and 15 percent lower carbon dioxide emissions without sacrificing any power.

BEDFORD, Ohio -- A local politician's messy room is making national headlines. Bedford School Board member Andrew Mizsak, 28,  ended up in the spotlight, after a fight with his parents at the home they share on Santin Circle.

Police say Mizsak's 63-year-old father called 9-1-1 last Thursday after his son threw a temper tantrum when the elder Mizsak asked him to clean his bedroom in the basement of the home.

The dispatcher became concerned when he heard screaming and then someone hung up the phone. Andrew Mizsak's father would later tell police that his son threw a plate full of food across the table and threatened him.

But Mr. Mizsak said he would not press charges because "I do not want to ruin his political career." According to a police report, the younger Mizsak was "crying uncontrollably", but agreed to go to his room and clean it as his father had requested.

Mizsak says he regrets that police had to deal with the family squabble, telling Fox Eight "just want to say it's a personal private family issue and it's been resolved and it's over."

Mizsak says he's fortunate to have the parents he has, adding that "my dad and I love each other very much."

I guess that's damn good news about Ford.

The guy they have running the show, Aan Mulally, is a bright guy. He did some good things at Boeing, I hope he can work some miracles at Ford.

I'm not saying he's a saint, but at least he was smart enough to back down with the Feds and stop taking corporate jets and reduce his salary to a buck.

We'll see. We need big industry healthy again.  :good

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Police in Kentucky are working with their counterparts in Ohio and Michigan on Wednesday to increase their patrols for commercial motor vehicle violations on Interstate 75.

The Kentucky State Police will be working with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Michigan State Police.

Officers will be looking for violations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. That includes driver safety, documentation and commercial driver's license credentials.

Kentucky State Police say officers will also be looking out for moving violations, including speeding, unsafe lane changes and following too closely.

Oh Oh!!! I better keep my a$$ in the right lane and slow down and stop running people off the road, OH better yet how about we truckers just park these big rolling road hog's for a few weeks and then see what happen's. Let's see no food at store= no food on table=less fuel use=less tax money=job cuts=no fuel at pump=no fuel for u to get to work=ect ect. why don't they just get the hell out of the way and let us get our work done, I know they want to make the road safe YES ??? but they don't have to be Dick's about it.

Toledo, OH -- Residents in Toledo are wondering why they are getting tickets for illegal parking...in their own driveways.

The tickets are for technically breaking the law that states no one may park on unpaved ground. But suddenly, that seems to apply for their own driveways.

"I just can't reach into my magic box of tricks and get 5-6 grand to pave my driveway," said Charles Robertson, who received a $25 ticket.

When asked about the issue, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner initially defended Sue Frederick, the mayor's Streets, Bridges, and Harbor Commissioner.

"She wouldn't have written the ticket if she didn't think she would be vindicated," said the mayor. "If they broke the law, you write a ticket."

Residents all along Holland Sylvania found their cars ticketed in their own yards.

Not everyone agrees in defending the tickets, however. City Councilman D. Michael Collins collected tickets to attempt to get them rescinded.

"I want this irresponsible activity by city employees going into neighborhoods and just doing something by fiat -- it has to stop," said Collins.

Residents question the motive behind the tickets. Many suspect it's just another way to squeeze out some extra money.

When this theory was presented to the Mayor, he ignored it, asking, "Could I have another question?"

"When the mayor has the audacity to tell me I'm wrong and everyone on this street is wrong, I think the mayor is wrong," said Robertson.

I heard about this on the news the other day, what a bunch of crap, How low can you go to do this to your people and then they wonder why everybody is moving out of there city, toledo is a gost town anymore, this was a law put in order way back when the car was first brought out I think.
