My wife's old Land Rover D-1 was handed down to my daughter when she got her license a few years ago. As many (not all) wimmin do, she proceeded to thrash the vehicle properly
Washed it only when I "suggested" it, gassed it up with half the money I gave her for gas and spent the rest on who knows what.....
Never told me when she heard a strange noise....before it grew into something expensive!
But it held up OK and I got to keep it in the family so that I could take it off road occasionally when we go out to the desert. I did a few modifications of the years....a slight lift, more aggressive BFG all terrains, a brush guard (which came in hand when she popped a Toyota truck! )
And now I decided to take it to the CORVA Truckhaven Challenge in a couple of weeks and need to add a bit more armor.
I've ordered differential protectors and some heavy duty rock sliders. I think I'll pass on the front skid plate for now since the course isn't too radical and I'm told the big plate up front has a tendency to trap heat and it already runs a bit hot.
The bumpers will stay on for now (unless they come off during the event! )
And I'm wondering if there are any other things I should do to get it ready for the poker run?
I don't have a winch mounted, but I do have a very good retrieval strap and solid tow points front and rear.
Any suggestions? It's a fact of Life:
After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......
