Mirvin, When I did mine I used that primer/sealer stuff called KILZ after I had cleaned it real good with Dawn. Make sure its dry of course before putting down the sealer. Let that dry and then lay down the latex.
Felt kind of wierd walking around Home Depot with a picture of my boat trying to match the color. I bought a gallon and I have a life time supply for touch up. And enough to do the trim in our bathroom
