Can anyone point me to a qualified fiberglass guru in the LA / OC area? Boat is in Torrance so within an hour tow would be nice.

I've been dealing with a dum-ass who's repaired my shit twice only to have it re-open and now he's dissapeared on me :angry

Hull repair is a never ending battle sometimes, if they dont get all the bad glass out its like a cancer. It just comes back. Can't help with anybody in your area, but of course the place of choice is the guy who goes by Havasu Barney on the boards but he is in Havasu and usually buried in work. He has his own website maybe he knows somebody around you to recommend.

I know what you mean with the repairs. This isn't that bad but for some reason it keeps re-cracking. Never bigger or worse either, just the same. I'd like to get this taken care of before I start dumping money into other stuff :good

Thanks fellas. I got calls into both Mel and Rayson. The guy at Rayson Craft said I'm looking at a $1000 minimum!! Damn, without even looking at it. Guess I'll be checking out Mel first :stupid

1 large and thats a minimum :eek

Keep shopping hell check out Phoenix it might be worth the 5-6 hour tow to get it done for less :rolleyes

Isn't that funny? I knew Rayson was gonna be steep. I only called them cuz their like 3 blocks away! THe sad part is that this is totally un-necessary, the repair I mean. It's been there since I got the boat and hasn't gotten any bigger and it's just on the surface but somehow I can't get my head past it! It keeps me awake at night. I'ts keeping me from doing other stuff I want to do to upgrade the boat!! Oh fuck it

Well maybe they didn't understand what you were talking about, you might want to take the boat to them and have them look at it and see what they say, then take it to Mel's, they also do bitchin work!..Remember you get what you pay for!!.. :good

mirvin, where are the prob. repairs at on the boat, that will probanly help out in figuring out why it keeps cracking! sometimes if you repair and area that gets hammered, you will actually make the repair much larger than the actual damaged area! and you should repair a crack from both sides!, most shops will only repair one side and send you down the road,...you know how money hungry shops work!! lotta money little work! im in chino,...and if you are interested...my cell is 626-991-9031 i can help you save money and get a quality repair! Todd, Thanks for the input. I got into it last weekend and made a few discoveries. I though the prob was where the stringer meets the transom which was very worrysome. I cut a hole in the floor and now have acces to the problem and it's not at the stringer but farther left. The crack is actually at the point wher the hull makes one of those "steps". I also discovered that MY FUGGING MOTOR MOUNTS WERE LOOSE! The whole motor was pulled and rebuilt last year and the mounts obviously came loose which may have caused my "re-cracking" problem.

I'm now far less worried about this issue. Might just wait until i't convenient to take it somewhere or may do it myself.

I have a crack similiar to that runs right where the trailer bung sits just in front of the motor. I think the trailering on rough dirt roads help this crack get going :rolleyes

AZKC, I think that's alot of my prob too. When I got the boat it was hanging off the bunks in the back by at least 4" so the transom wasn't supported and the crack is right there where the step sits on the bunk.

I'll get it straitened out. At least I feel better about fixing the other issues in the meantime.

Boats can get beat up on the trailer just as bad or worse than on the water, especially if they are not fitted to the trailer properly!.
