Well I swapped all the good valve train stuff to the 781 heads I bought, while I had them apart I checked out the valves and was suprised to see that they were just cut with fresh stem seals. Sometimes ya get lucky I guess :good

Slap the heads on the short block over the next few days and we'll give it another try on getting this biatch back on the water :break

Spent the day chasing some exhaust manifold studs none to be found :angry

So I pulled all the old ones out of the broken set of heads :break

. Tapped out all the exhaust and intake threads reinstalled the studs. So now their done, on to the cleaning up of the block :good

Different type of clean-up. Cleaning up the short block thats been sitting around for 5 months. Cleaning gasket surfaces and wiping the dust and stuff out of the cylinders.

Gettin close :jumpie

Found my electrical problem after being about 5 seconds away from yanking the starter. I was doing all my test with a test light grounded to the battery and was getting voltage to the solenoid and starter but it wouldn't crank. :stupid

Figured it had siezed over the Winter, I have a spare so I was going to swap it out, I had the manifold off all ready to ck the starter. So when I went to take it completely out to yank the starter I look down in the bilge and :cry

I had left the ground off from the block to the battery. DOH!! Hook that biatch up and cranks just fine now :beer

If I'd ground my test light to the block I would have caught that alot sooner. :banghead

Run the valves, slap the plugs in, button up the valve covers and she'll be ready AGAIN

Fired the mofo up and it's still in a raw state of tune and the gas is a little rank. But Gawd Damn I love that cam I got, barkin like a big dawg. Starting it in the carport backup against the house was a bit much I wonder why my ears are ringing :banghead

WOW ..I was doing the same thing around the same time..only thing differnt is i was being pulled back in may by the lake lice in 2-3 chop :banghead

then got pull back in July also.

Well I tackled the front seats today that an upholstrey guy f'd me over on 2 years ago. They were falling apart and he said he used all new wood. What abunch of crap :angry

it still had some wood from when Hawaiian built them. I tell ya one thing he was frikin enjoying he's staple gun :banghead

I got'em put back together pretty well but I see an upgrade in the near future.

Oh yeah and I started it a few times just to listen to it :beer
