:confused mercury calls for a 20 hr service for drive alignment. what eles should I be looking for with this service? I am probably closer to 100 hrs but this will be my end of season service.

reading the warranty, I can do most of it. i am not sure about doing the drive alignment, so i'm looking for info or having a dealer do it. fluids and filters I can do. after the year is up and its not covered I will be doing all the maintance any ways.

Well can't help on a dealer, they scare the shit out me anyhow, myself I'd just get a factory manual and do it myself, that way I know it would be done "right"!... :)  :good

Thats the way i'm headed, talked to a shop in parker thats willing to talk me thru the drive alignment, he's sure that after I watch that I'll be willing to have him do it at the end of each season. he don't know me very well :D


btw: eddies marine in parker. I don't know good from bad but he comes well recomended and  is willing to show me what to look for between services. :good

I know who they are, never heard anything bad about them!. :good You gotta watch though, some of these places when they show you stuff they make it sound so complicated that you just say screw it, let them do it and they laugh all the way to the bank!.. :D  :laugh  :laugh

thanks, I've got an eye for simple ideas to complicated problems . I'll see how thay do and come up with my own way to solve it. it will be good to see how its done :good

well it's done, and I guess it was "painless" $700.00. all the fluids, filters , drive align., added an hour mtr, pickup and deliver in and out of storage. fluids could have been cheaper if I shopped, & $75 an hour for shop labor. I'll know more when I get back up to see it tucked away proper in the garage. But its good for 100 hrs now. minus oil changes at the end or beginning of each season. and an impeller. anything else speak up. :stupid

    btw; put 38 hrs on it this year. :good  :beer

 drive align, and shaft is still an issue for me, :stupid  but I have good info on what to do. It's a year old and got a clean bill of health so  it won't see the shop agian. :bebe  :D
