| Quote (ROGERP83 @ May 12 2006,9:10 am) | Ok, so I knew that Hall Craft was in Ca being that I'm a native but I never would have thought that here in Vegas it would be so hard to find someone who knew where to get or how to find Hall Craft parts!  but I guess thats why I'm here right? So to be real honest with you, up until i read this reply this morning, I was thinking of getting rid of my stevens after this summer for  another boat with a newer drive system. But now with the knowledge I've aquired from GFR I feel like my boat project has reached a whole new level of capability  so with the seals and bearings, I put a new sealed bearing and new chicago rawhide output shaft rubber lip seal on the gear housing, cleaned out the entire gear housing, replaced the oil and assembled it back together, hooked up the garden hose to the motor and started it up and   it was an awsome feeling after about 25 minutes of continuous running and not a drop of oil, not a sign of vibration in sight! So now all I have to do is put in the seats my buddies and i have pre-cut and make an honest attempt at upohlstry and we should be on the water by next weekend. So I know i said I would post more pictures but I can't find my usb cable to do so. As soon as I find it I'll post some up and let you guys see the boat in action. thanks a bunch. I never would have even had a clue or known where to begin with you guys.

Congrats, glad you got it squared away!..   Actually because Hallcraft has been gone for so long, unless you talk to someone from back in the day no one has even heard of Hallcraft anymore!.. There's nothing wrong with a Stevens, (in fact I wish I could find my old one) any boat can get discusting when things go bad, it's no different than a car if you don't maintain it the thing will go to shit, apparently that's the case with yours. My first boat(Stevens) was the same way when I bought it, the first summer I had it the thing never ran more than 15-20 minutes anytime I took it out. That got taken cared of real quick that winter!..... if you start having trouble with your paralel drive or you want to up the power a bit, I have a Hallcraft split case v-drive that will work real good in your boat, might want to keep it in mind!..
