Yeah they work good for a general purpose carb as long as long as you keep the fuel clean, they can be a real pain when the metering rods stick, lol. They are good for mileage too, I finally got the one on the dually tuned pretty good, got 16mpg going to the river this last weekend and there's probably more there, and a litle tweakin on the HEI may help too!.... As far as performance it don't stand up to a Holley, but that's what they are for not mileage!.. Anyhow, do you want to part with the Holley??, I can use it for my running stand, let me know how much if you want to part with it!..

It is going on the 440 Wedge in my 21' Omega jet which has a covered engine. I'm asking since I come from larger ocean boats, where marine specific is required. 
If you have an engine cover you need a marine carb, it's the way they're vented to contain the fumes and fuel from spilling over into the engine compartment!.. 
I've used the Edlebrock and Carter on my Jeep for years. They work great, and are very easy to setup and tune using a strip kit. Springs. metering rods and jets can all be swapped out in minutes without removing the carb. I just can't get this thing set up right. When one thing is dialed in, something else is screwed up.
