OK....I have 2 trailer hitches, a 1" and a 2.5".  With my other boat & waverunner trailers, these drop-downs were needed.

With the POS Yami, I had to flip over the 1" to a "drop-up" and have had no problems, other than the trailer still tows at a slight down angle.

I've turned over the 2.5" and will test it today.  The way the ball mount is designed, a slight downward angle, the ball now will have a slight upward angle.

Should I be OK with flipping over the 2.5"..??  Boat & trailer around probably 3,000 lbs total.  I'm thinking if it gets a good bite on the ball, all should be fine; just don't know all the physics involved in having the tow-point that far above the receiver.

I have had to do that on a few occasions. Never had a prob.

As long as you don't exceed the rated tongue wt. and torque the ball after you flip it, I think you'll be fine with your Yammie. ;)

Thanks bud.....it seems to be fine, just enuf to flatten out the trailer angle through the axles....trails a little lower in the  back is all....

The ball mount is actually near parallel with the ground.... :cool   A few cases of 12z in the bed for traction and I'm good to go... :D

The flatter the trailer the better, but I prefer mine to be just a touch down that up. My thought is when stopping, the weight will transfer to the truck in the downward  direction. I would think that if the trailer is up, it would want to take the weight off of the truck?? Just my way of thinking......

Your right on the downward angle....keeps the boat resting nicely against the bow stop.... :good

There are times when retrieving, like on a steep ramp like Jack Smith, the boat will slide back a few inches.  With the slight downward angle, a few traffic stops and road bounces scoots it right back up... :cool

I'll just bring 'em both next week-end.... ;)
