Here I go again....  :eek :beat   Might be able to get this for around $6k... :confused



Original owner '78 Hallett 20' Sport Cruiser with 454/Berkley out in San Bernardino.
Has approx. 500 hours on the original motor, with most of the running on the river.
Serviced regularly, according to the owner.

What's the "take" on engine hours..??  Should I have concerns..??  Seems like I've read about wakeboard boats with like 600 hours on 'em before.... :stupid

That is sweet! :cool  I like it the best of all of the potentials that have been posted. :good

If I had the room to store it and you weren't taking it, I would seriously look at it.  For me, the number of hours on that motor would not be a big deal.  I would want to go through it anyways. :) I'm curious about the integrity of the hull.  As long as that is good, anything else can be fixed. :good

OOOOOHHHHH! We can be twinsies!!  Get it Shue! At that age, as Doug said, as long as the hull is good, it's a good price.  You will probably have to do work to the engine someday.  It's 30 years old for cryin out loud  :cry  Ours doesn't even have an hour meter on it and we paid 7800 for ours, I think. And that was 8 or 9 years ago.  That is a really good price for a Hallett.  They hold their value well.

I had talked to the guy several times back in Nov-Dec, right after I sold the motorcycle boat.  Nice guy, retired  :good, and talked very lovingly about his boat.

It's a little unusual, as it has a bench seat, rather than buckets, which is what they wanted for Arrowhead.

He email'd me today and said come out on tomorrow and give it a look-see.  He bought a bigger 2002 and has lowered the price....always a good thing.

If I'm going to get a used jet, it might as well be FIRST-CLASS QUALITY.... :cool

I can always bribe GoFast into freshening-up the motor.... :D

Well, I learned a long time ago that buying a boat with a motor is a crapshoot(people sell boats because the motor is bad)unless you personally know the owner and the history of it!.. I look at the integrety of the boat and the hardware and then consider the price, if it's reasonable I'll buy it and if it has a motor that's ok and if it's junk who cares I bought a boat, if the motor is good it's a bonus!.... Hallett is a very good boat especially the older ones and if it was taken cared of it's a plus, from the pics it looks like a good deal even if it didn't have a motor, of course pics can be decieving need to take a real close look at it!... Gary, if you're stuck on a ditch pump I'd go for it, "IF" it's what it appears to be you can't lose, and yeah I can freshen it up for ya!.. :good
