This part broke off the boat the other day. It's a little plastic piece that holds the shift cable in place and is located on the heat riser. The boat has two Chevy 350's and the photo is of the one on the other engine that isn't broken. I also noticed this piece on the throttle cable also. Anyone know where I could get a new one of these?

Not an I/O guy, but if its plastic its probably pretty common to break, I'll bet one of the shops there in Havasu have them sitting on the shelf.

yeah probably so, it's the piece in the photo with the nut on the end of it and the cable going through the upper part of it.

Not impossible probably but the problem I see is that it has to be tight on the cable so the cable does not slide through it (it is an anchor for the cable jacket).  AND you would have to press it on over the end, which has another plastic deal on it which I don't believe is removable.  If you make it 2 piece then you have no way to clamp it together and grab the cable tightly (because it slides in the little reciever hole, no room for a clamp).  No room for bolting together either.  While the nut would do it on the top one, not the case with the cotter pin dealio (there is no nut).  

Good project if you can figure it out.

I'll figure something out. There has to be that part out here somewhere in Havasu. I just have to start going to the marine shops and take that part with me. I'm sure someone has it.

I can fix it. I got hose clamps and some wire. And if it gets real crazy I'm breakin out the duct tape   :laugh
