Although this is good news for me, it will be a bummer to leave everyone that I have met on here. Linda and I are relocating to Boise, ID, where I have been offered a job at another dept. I have lived in SoCal for 8 years, and have had some good times here, but I am waaaaaaaay tired of all of the traffic, smog, illegals, and just the general attitude of people here. And it is only going to continue to get worse. Riverside/San Bernardino had an annual growth rate of 26% last year. The house that we can build in Idaho for $300,000 will make the place we are in now look like a hovel. The Snake river is right by where we are moving, as are numerous lakes. Being that there probably will not be a Christmas Party this year, cos I am leaving in early December, we are kicking around the idea of a Halloween party. -DD Out

Congrats on the relocate, sucks about leavin the sun but you'll make the fun up there. I'm so ready to leave the desert here in AZ and get where there is mo water. Just cant deal with cold, we're looking at Vegas or Sacramento. Nice to kick with ya @ OP6C-V. If I don't see ya before you bail, I'll catch you online...

We barley got to know you and Linda. Let's go ride again before you go. Being further away will make the river trips more memorable when you get to go. For sure we will go riding again. It is hard to pick up and move after 8 years here, but neccessary. I miss the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, and I have never been into HavaZoo or the River on the weekends anyway, so its all good. Slower paced lifestyles have always been more up my alley, instead of the rat race down here. -DD Out

Hey Dave & Linda, Congrats on getting out of So. Cal.  I agree Dave the pacific northwest is awesome.  Randall and I having 3 kids would love to get out of So. Cal someday and move towards the mountains were the air is clean and lakes and rivers are clean, and most of the time clear :good

We barely got to know you guys and you two seem to be great people. I hope we can get together again and Linda and the rest of us girls can drain those machines of hers :beer  :drink  :rotflmao

Thanks everyone. Just because I am leaving SoCal, I still plan on being on these boards just as much as ever. And yes, I will be making trips down to the river with the boat once or twice a year. I will still keep in touch with everyone here for sure.  :comp  It is hard leaving, but it is the right decision, as SoCal is making me grumpier and grumpier all the time.   :beat  

Bill, you can COUNT on us still hooking up, I can promise you that. The hardest decision for me was to leave the friends that I have made not only at work, but on these boards as well. That was the only thing keeping me in SoCal, but in the end, moving won out as Linda will get to retire, and I will be in MUCH cleaner air, with fewer people on the freeways, which absolutely drives me crazy!!! -DD Out

We tried the move up north to Washington 7 years ago, and missed so cal too much. Now that we are older we might be able to tolerate another move, but we havent even thought about leaving here.

I am not worried about you handling the move, I am worried about Idaho handling you. lol  :D I am sure there will be a few locals moving out of state once you arrive. j/k

Do us a favor dont sell the house in Riverside, just leave it for the HD members to use every once and a while.  :beer
